Kati Penn

image1_1466450473Kati Penn grew up in a musical family in Frankfort, Kentucky, taking up the fiddle at age 10. When she was only 12 she became a member of the Young Acoustic All-Stars, a group of young Bluegrass players that performed throughout America. Since then, she has played fiddle and sung with a number of well-known acts, working alongside five-time IBMA Female Vocalist of the Year Dale Ann Bradley, acclaimed guitarist Jim Hurst (Trisha Yearwood, David Grisman), and Grammy-winning country songwriter/musician Pam Gadd. She has filled opening slots for such Country artists as Tracy Lawrence, Montgomery Gentry, the late George Jones and many others. Kati says her somewhat-reserved personality isn’t what people might expect of someone who spends so much time in the limelight. “I’m kind of an introvert for someone who performs, actually,” Kati says. “But I love what I do, and I’m having a great time playing in such a fantastic band.”
